«В это же время, в прошлом году, находясь в Австралии, в Мельбруне, и потом снимаясь в сериале «Стрела», я думала – да, это всё, что я хочу. Но теперь я нахожусь в Будапеште, и играю в кино с вампирами !...))) ».

Сериал «Стрела» продлён ещё на один сезон, но Джесика не уверена, что сможет появиться в этом сезоне, т.к. сейчас снимaется в сериале по заказу американской сети NBC и Великобритании «Дракула». Где играет так же Джонатан Рис Майерс, в роли американского бизнесмена Александра Грейсона (он же – Дракула). На этой неделе сериал «Дракула» попал в десятку самых перспективных фильмов. Он дебютирует на ТВ осенью 2013 (* 1 ноября 2013).
По сюжету фильма, Дракула оказывается в викторианском Лондоне, где случайно встречает красивую девушку Мину Мюрей (*Джесика де Гау). Мина кажется ему реинкарнацией когда-то давно умершей жены.
«Джони удивительный! Я помню, как впервые встретилась с ним на читке. Я была очень испугана , потому что я очень уважаю его как актёра, но это было забавно, как быстро я перешла от "О, это Джонатан Рис Майерс" к "Это мой Джонни" . Он милейший человек (*он самый добросердечный человек), и, я думаю, я от него больше всего научилась актёрству. Он поддерживает меня."
Между съёмками «Стрелы» и «Дракулой» Джесика сыграла так же в апокалиптическом триллере These Final Hours сценариста и режиссёра Зака Хилдича, премьера которого состоится на Мельбурнском Международном кинофестивале в июле 2013.

I'm very dramatic person. I've an afwul lot of energy. I'm very hyperactive. And that's come out as being very dramatic. This time last year Perth-raised actress Jessica De Gouw didn't think life could get much better. The rising starlet had scored a role in ABC1 telemovie The Mystery of a Hansom Cab but little did she know that in 12 months time she would be living in Budapest and cosying up to a Hollywood hunk on a television drama set.
"It's pretty wacky, I have to check myself everyday it's like 'OK, I'm in Budapest but I'm from Perth, what am I doing here'," she tells AAA over the phone from Budapest where her new show Dracula is being filmed.
"It's been an adventure. When I think about where I was this time last year, I was in Melbourne shooting a little telemovie for the ABC which then I thought was huge. I was like 'Oh my God, this is all I ever want', and now I'm in Budapest playing with vampires and all of that."
It's been a dizzying rise to fame for De Gouw, who graduated from her performance studies degree at *Curtin University *in 2010.
Shortly after, the former Lesmurdie High School student moved to Sydney and went on to secure guest appearances in Underbelly: Razor, Crownies and Kath & Kimderella.
Then, last year, the 24-year-old joined the droves of young Australian actors in Los Angeles, where she landed a recurring guest role as The Huntress in hit new US series Arrow. The Huntress will debut on Australian screens on June 12.
"I did a pilot season last year in LA and it went really, really well," she says. "I ended up testing on a couple of different series but then I went home and shot a film in Australia and I thought 'You know I may as well go back to America and see how it goes'.
"A couple of weeks later I was on a plane to Vancouver to play The Huntress in Arrow."
Arrow is based on the DC Comics crime fighter Green Arrow and has been touted as a darker alternative to Batman, starring *Stephen Amell *as Oliver Queen/ Arrow. De Gouw's role sees her play Arrow's love interest, masked crusader The Huntress who is also known as Helena Bertinelli, in three episodes over the first season. Helena is the daughter of a mob boss who turned against her father after he ordered the murder of her fiance.
De Gouw is more than aware she has become the envy of many women across the globe, getting paid to smooch Amell.
"It's an all right gig, it wasn't hard going to work," she laughs. "Stephen was such a dreamboat, he's so lovely. It wasn't really a challenge to be romantically minded with him, he's the sweetest man and he does have abs of steel."
While Arrow has been picked up for another season, De Gouw is not sure she will be able to appear in more episodes as she is in the middle of shooting Dracula, a 10-episode series commissioned by US network NBC and Britain's Sky, starring *Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Alexander Grayson, aka Dracula.

Produced by the makers of Downton Abbey, Dracula was this week named one of Entertainment Tonight's "10 most promising" new US shows this year and will debut in September.
Set in 1890s London, the show will see Dracula fall in love with a beautiful young woman called Mina Murray, played by De Gouw, who seems to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.
"Johnny is amazing," De Gouw says of the famous actor. "I remember when I first met him at the chemistry read. I was so intimidated because I have so much respect for him as an actor but it was so funny how quickly that went from 'Oh that's Jonathan Rhys Meyers', to 'That's my Jonny'. He is the sweetest man and I think he's one of the actors I've learnt the most from. He keeps me on my toes."
Between filming Arrow and Dracula, De Gouw popped home to Perth at the end of last year and shot These Final Hours, an apocalyptic thriller feature film with Perth writer/director Zak Hilditch, which will premiere at the Melbourne International Film Festival in July.
She is planning to return to WA later this year once filming for Dracula has wrapped.
"I desperately want to get home," she says. "When I finish filming this I think I want to spend a couple of weeks at home. I'm going to go to Sydney and then Melbourne and then all the way to Perth. My mum will kill me if I don't, I'll be in so much trouble."
